Artist's Comments

Sculpted in Polymer Clay. I used colored polymer clay for everything with the exception of the small purple spots on the fish face and body which I painted with acrylic. The eyes, all other spots, and the stripes on his tail are made using different canes of blended colors. I enjoy making the canes. :) The fish is built over a chicken egg and rattles (I always like to put something inside the eggs to make noise). The little fish rider is about 1.5" sitting and was built over a wire armature. His face reminds me of a Hun. He is removable.
I have some detail shots that show his face and the fish face better in my scraps.
I like this little sculpt :)

beautiful work
I donīt know what kind of material is polymer clay. Could you tell me if it's like "fimo"?
thanks!!
:iconelvinmoon:
That's exactly what it is - Fimo! The fish is sculpted almost entirely out of Fimo with a little Premo thrown in so I could get a nice metallic luster. The littel Sea Sprite riding him was sculpted in Cernit and has Fimo/Premo clothing. The fish is made over a chicken egg. I tend to do that a lot - use eggs as structures. :)

THANKS so much for asking and commenting on my work:glomp:
